After Chianti, I was back in the hotel looking for the next race before I'd even recovered. I wanted the next level: 100 miles, with 8,000m of climbing, starting in a ski resort and finishing by the sea.
It was by far the most physically painful experience of my life. I crossed the line at 7AM after two days of near constant movement, both knees bandaged, with a huge smile on my face.
